If you want to be the good guy, and smear the demon taint off of Tamriel, you side with Dawnguard. If you like being evil, or you have a hard-on for Halloween creatures, you probably want Vampires. Really it just boils down to preference though. Though I don't think as a Vampire you necessarily HAVE to be completely bad, but I'm not far enough to say yet. There's also an Ax that powers itself up to do more Sun damage with each Undead kill, up to a total of 10, but resets when you enter a new area.Īlso for anyone who's worried the vampires are too strong, Dawnbreaker, the Daedric artifact awarded to you by Meridea, is excellent for killing vampires.Īlso as someone else mention earlier, it is a very clear-cut Good Vs Evil plot-line.

One is a super-powered Dawnguard shield that's awesome against Vampires, does +10 bash damage against them, and when held/sustained, creates a sun shield that does 10 damage per touch/second, while draining stamina. I believe both factions have small side-story quests that allow you to get neat little faction-relevant artifacts after you do 5 or so radiant quests for them.

Since I missed the "Oblivion Walker" achievement, I'm hoping the vampire side of this story offers a daedric artifact.Īs for my opinion, Dawnguard without question.
